Get The Best Deal Online!

When shopping offline or online you always want  to get the best deal possible.  When we come across good or great deals we add them to this website. There are many ways you can save money online. Some people think products might cost more because there is shipping to consider and yes that is true sometimes but many companies offer free shipping. You can always ask to have shipping costs thrown in free.

You can save money also by asking for a discount.  You can ask for a senior discount, business discount, professional discount, nurse's discount, disability discount, repeat customer discount, etc. Always try to get a discount, whether you're buying small or big-ticket items.

Ebay is popular of course, and you can save money there if you know what you are doing and how to bid.  Be careful though - it is not common knowledge but when you bid on an item you are obligated to buy it until the bidding is over.  If someone ahead of you retracts their bid, you are next in line. So don't go away thinking you've lost the item. If you retract your bid it will show a negative on your account.  And you want to avoid that because you will be stuck with it. The eBay price is not always the lowest price so make sure you comparison shop before you place your bid. Also check sold items for comparable prices.

Amazon and Half.com can save you money on books and other items,  but figure in the shipping costs. So make sure to compare prices with your local bookstores.

Some items online will be written up in Consumer Reports magazine.  Make sure you check them out for reviews, ranking, ratings and comparisons.  If you don't subscribe, call your local reference librarian and ask he or she to look up the item in the Consumer Report magazine annual indexes to find out what month and year the item was last reviewed in.  They may be able to mail or fax or email an attachment of the article. We have done that many times.  This is true for national brands. Unique and many online items won't be included.
